Nigerian govt bows to pressure, to crash telecom tariff hike The Federal Government of Nigeria is reportedly set to reduce the telecommunications tariff hike from the previously approved 50 percent to 35 percent. According to Vanguard, the reduction followed a meeting of the 10-man committee comprising government officials and representatives of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC. The meeting was reportedly held at the office of the National Security Adviser, NSA, on Friday. Reports further indicated that an official communique announcing the tariff reduction is expected to be released soon by the Nigerian Communication Commission, NCC.
