UNILORIN Hosts 2025 IUPAC Women’s Breakfast Meeting Members of the Network of Nigerian Women in STEM gathered at the University of Ilorin for the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) Global Women’s Breakfast Meeting. ROYAL NEWS gathered that the event was aimed at highlighting the achievements of women in Chemistry and fostering collaboration and networking among female scientists across Nigeria. In his opening remarks, the National President of the Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN), Prof. Rufus Sha’ato emphasized the importance of women’s participation in science and technology fields, particularly Chemistry. Represented by the Chairman of the CSN Kwara Chapter, Prof. O.S. Oguntoye, the CSN boss acknowledged the historical underrepresentation of women in these areas and called for concerted effort to create more inclusive environments that encourage young girls to pursue careers in STEM.
