It is disheartening that N20 note which carries my dad’s image has become worthless-Aishat Muhammed. Aishat Oyebode (née Muhammed), the eldest daughter of the late General Murtala Ramat Muhammed, spoke about the tragic event of February 13, 1976, when her father was killed just seven months after becoming Nigeria’s leader. In an interview with Daily Trust, she talked about how his death remains one of the saddest moments in Nigeria’s history. She also shared how it affected their family and mentioned the plans to mark the 50th anniversary of his passing next year.
