Young Lady Brutally Beaten To Death By Boyfriend After Paying Him A Visit.

According to Punch newspaper,the Lagos state police operatives have taken a 23-year-old, Gbolahan Adebayo, into custody for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, resulting in her fatal death, in the Ijedodo area of Alimosho, Lagos.

It was gathered from sources familiar with the matter that the unfortunate incident occurred on Friday during a visit by the deceased to the suspect's house.

A local resident, who preferred to be identified only as Akin, shared with our correspondent on Monday that he distinctly heard the 23-year-old victim's desperate cries for help ringing out around midnight as she was allegedly being brutally assaulted by her boyfriend.

Akin further revealed that it was not until daybreak that Adebayo sounded the alarm, apparently feigning concern, after he discovered that his girlfriend had become unresponsive following the violent assault.

A police insider, who requested anonymity due to not being authorized to publicly discuss the case, disclosed to our correspondent that the incident was formally reported to the authorities at the Isheri-Oshun Police Division on Sunday by a neighbor of the suspect.

The source further explained that prior to reporting the incident to the police, the victim had been rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention, where she ultimately succumbed to the severe injuries she had sustained during the violent assault.

According to the source, the neighbor revealed that the incident had actually occurred two days prior, and initial attempts were made to revive the victim, but unfortunately, she did not survive.

Following this revelation, a team of police officers was promptly dispatched to the scene, marking the commencement of an ongoing investigation into the matter.

In response to inquiries, Lagos State Police Command's spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, verified the occurrence of the incident, corroborating earlier reports.
