Southampton set to sign Nigerian winger

The Nigerian winger for Antwerp is expected to sign with Southampton of the Premier League, despite having a difficult debut season.

According to Het Niewusblad, Victor Udoh is expected to go from Antwerp to the Premier League. The 20-year-old Nigerian winger, who was just placed on the team's reserve squad, will depart the Belgian team on deadline day in order to sign with Southampton. He is reportedly going to start for Southampton's reserve team. 

Antwerp supporters may be a little worried that the team is letting another winger go after losing Jacob Ondrejka to Parma this winter. The Swedish winger was having a great season with seven goals and five assists in 26 games, and with Michel-Ange Balikwisha also out with an injury, the team is currently lacking wide players. Udoh has been a bit part player for the Belgian team in recent years, making the majority of his appearances from the bench. He made 14 appearances during the 2023/2024 season and recorded one assist.
